I will be Holidaying at Mudjimba from Christmas day for about 2 weeks, and will naturally be taking my kite/s.

I would love to hook up with any of the local crew who might be able to give me the low down on whats hot and whats not in the area, local do's and don't s and generally point me in the right direction to happy kiting.

I also need a recommendation for the local kite doctor. There are none here in PNG and I would like a "field dressing" or two made a bit more permanent if possible.

I'm also wondering if it is worth packing the 7m? What is the likelyhood of getting 23kts+ in that period? I can always pack it in with the kids gear

Apologies to the locals in advance as me packing the kites will pretty much guarantee no wind at all for that period. The plus side is that it will likely be nuking a few days before I arrive and for a week after I leave!

Our season is pretty much shot here (no wind in monsoon season) and I am hoping to get into some sand and surf kiting rather than the reefy lagoon stuff we have here.

MOJO - do you do/organise kite repairs locally? Naturally I would like to minimise the downtime if possible.

Last thing we want is the clubbies not to be on our side. Went for a downwinder on Sunday and noticed Taxi and his crew hitching a ride back to Castaways...did'nt make it guys, Well we headed off and pumped the kites all the way to **** beach (that I mean worked it thru the low end....P.S this is not fag talk either) .
Vic dropped his kite and drifted past the flags (Halfway)...100metres from the beach he managed to get back up in the air....again not fag talk !!
Not all that bad of a session on my trusty 16m.

I'm down the coast to kite with my brother (Coolangatta) and to set up the Shea's Xmas Kasbar. this is a tradition where we hitch 2 tents and arranged 4 or so kites to create a arabic tent....camels not included and pass a couple of fresh prawn rolls at the clubbies for their appreciation....

P.P.S nothin against ****...just STEP AWAY from my kite slowly !!!
