Howdy all,
Leaving for Italy this weekend and after 3 weeks of convincing the missus that I can fit the kite gear in the luggage with all her other "important" stuff, I'm considering hauling it all along just in case. The last few holidays I've been on with the family I ended up standing on a beach watching kiters having a blast and kicking myself for not packing my gear as well
.
Any advice and suggestions are therefore requested. We are away for 6 weeks and literally doing a full loop of the boot, i.e. Rome - Modena - Milan - Como lakes - Udine - Venice (how cool would it be to kite down the grand canal
) - Pescara - Siciliy then 4 days on Santosa in Singapore on the way home.
I've searched around a bit and found some places that might be OK but I am after the tried and tested experience of you Seabreezers.
Cheers

Sicily: West coast, Alby Rondina Kite Surf School.
Milano: Campione del Garda, Lago di Garda.
Venice: Sottomarina, Chioggia.
Venice: Caorle Eastern Beach.
Everything else you've stated is a tad too far from water.
Venice (how cool would it be to kite down the grand canal
)
Do you know what happens to turds when toilets flush in Venice?
Yep. Dont even dip your toe in the canal water.
How will you be getting around, campervan, RV, hire car?
Many beaches open again at the end of (summer) September drastically increasing possibilities.
The beaches, both sides are not windy in a "sea breeze" style wind. The wind is much more unreliable or erratic.
As soon as you're near a beach Google looking for local kite shops. From there you'll find the kite spots. Great way to get to know the locals!
Been down there every year for the last 10... Too many good places to list! Have fun.
