Hi Guys,

I have a 14M turbo diesel two.

in winds of 18 knots - the thing is unstable and tends to fall out of the sky backwards, even if I let the bar out. Makes trying to learn how to get up on a board a tad difficult, particularly when if falls down into the surf! Wind is fine as smaller kites 10/12 stay up witout an issue.

any ideas on what may be cuasing this peoblem. should I try shortening the front lines or back lines? I have checked the lines and all four lines seem to be equlal in leangth.

As a newbiew I am not sure if it is me or their is something at fault with the kite?

any comments are appreciated

Thanks - Matthew.

If it's backstalling why not try pulling in the trim a bit. It'll have the same effect as shortening your front lines which should solve the issue if it is indeed being oversheeted.
Once you've confirmed it's backstalling from oversheeting you can always make up some longer pigtails for the rear or shorten the attachment point on the front lines.

I own a TD2 14m as well, was my first kite. If the lines are the SAME length then you need more length in your back lines, I haven't got the exact amount but they should be a bit longer than the front lines.

I've met someone with this problem before, turns out his front lines had stretched so much that the lines were now of equal length.

So shorten the front lines or (more easily) lengthen the back lines with extra pigtails if need be.

Sounds like you don't know how to fly the kite .Get some lessons and learn all about stall, stall recovery ,powering up depower and so on .(if you've already had em and your instructor didn't show and explain this find another instructor)
You'll progress faster and safer

That's not necissarily the case float, he could quite easily had his lessons on a school kite then bought his own after that.
