Sorry even with these you'll see deterioration of the bridal lines,they flatten the line ,no pulleys no problems,

That style of connection in various forms has been around for a while now.

Also some kites like NAISH use a pulley which is perfectly safe. If it breaks you remain connected and can still fly your kite.

I like the Ronstan Orbital blocks. They run really well and are easy to free up when you get a bit of sand in them. I bought them for my 09 Helix from you guys and they have been great this season.

Even the metal pulleys will deteriorate your lines. Be interesting to note if this is reduced or not. What have you found??

Watched the vid, yeh the wear will be less I think than the metal ring. Also guides the ropes better. Good idea.

Cabrinha were running these about two and a half years ago with their pro upgrade, then Core with the Gts, both ran different bridal line from the standard dyneema , I think it could be Kevlar sheathed spectra which wears very little. North fuses and I guess a couple others in 2011 range ran plastic (probably carbon impregnated) which were very low wear on standard dyneema bridals.

been looking around for a fair while havent been able to find any info on this...

speaking about these sliders, pulleys and rings with rhys up at kitepower, he mentioned that if i put pulleys on in place of the rings i had on there at the moment, it would make the kite more responsive as the area that the pulleys move is a lot less then the ring would travel.

I hope that makes sense and someone can answer.

Yep i am officially farqed. Lol. In two years time I may be riding a completely different kite but that won't stop the references!! That's even after writing glowing reports about an ozone kite. Oh well we all know it's a kangaroo court around here. Any wind up your way Chris???

Re pulleys, some brands have massive problems, like the sling shot revs PU bridles line shrinking with pulleys.

Some brands have no problems with pulleys using thicker replaceable bridle line using the cheaper pulleys

Go the 5th line option and tear your kite in half if you roll it in the waves, or roll your kite out at sea and have the 5th line wrap around your kite and swim in and spend ages untangling lines because you have to undo the lines, untangle and re do them up, because that's what happens when you crash and roll a kite with a 5th line some times...

Re the ozone no pulleys i have heard that some ozone bridles need replacing after a fair amount of use, stretch or Frey? has anyone had this happen?

For pulleys 20mm to Ronstan orbit blocks do the job ,,, but if you can get your hands on some new harken 18mm carbo blocks these things are the cats ass ,harken is very well made top end gear....

Yes - must be the salt in my eyes I was quoting from the Epic store but I must have had something else in my cart because now when I check I get a different freight figure... Yes $18 for the pair + $8 freight (Brisbane) =$US26. Not too bad considering, however a quick search found the same sliders (no lines) for under $AU10 delivered for a pair...

Remove the dumbow pullies and dangerous bridals. They will seize, tangle and break. Thats fully fugged up - if you're powered.

Stupid pullies and bridals are completely unnecessary, they are a marketing gimick designed for school kites.

They are a "comfort blankie" for knobs who are scared of kite boarding.

What the hell are you talking about,why would kite designers go to the trouble of putting pulleys and bridles on a kite if they were not needed?? yes agreed some kites can be designed without but the majority of kites have them ( i'm guessing 80% of kites have some sort of pulley/ bridle system). If your so against pulleys ,buy a kite with out them if you have a kite with pulleys make sure you maintain them and replace them with descent ones if they start to wear.

Beginners need pullies cause they lack fly skill and marketing teams need something to sell. virtually all kiters above intermediate skills desire direct connections.

Another couple of years Lovely and you will be ready for direct connect
