Starts in about ~3/4hours. It's being streamed here: http://redbullkingoftheair.co.za/live-stream

It'll be interesting to see how the height and air meter works! Any bets on the biggest jump?

Hadlow was the only one who pulled some seriously ballsy stuff... should have won from his Kiteloop KGBs alone.

Does anyone know the wind speeds at cape town on the day.It says that it was 33 knots today in cape town on windfinder .It looks like its going to be a cranker on thursday all day .Leightons would be an easier place to do it.How about an unofficial one at leightons? .

Scarborough ampitheatre would be good in an organised event and if the beach was section off,but imagine trying to pass the stirling council which would have to be one of the most conservative councils in the western world.
In South Africa there are far less rules and events like that happen because the general public want it.
Unfortunatly Perth is one of the most conservative societys in the world and I could see one happening ,but we would have to twist many arms in the political ladder to do so!.I am a little dumb founded why we could not get the pkra event at leightons ..WTF!.
To many rules I guess!.

WA has world class wind ,but further north in the midwest is more comparable to the wind at Capetown!

Another option. If we could get kitestock to fall on a high nuking wind weekend and stage it just south of the kite stock beach where those decent waves are !That would be another possibility.
Any way should be able to get the 8 metre kites out on thursday .Go big!

You raise two good points.

Team up with an event that's allready running. (Kitestock)

Up north where the chance of 30 knots is higher.

Dongara Back Beach - Geraldton Back Beach.

Best in Gero as the big hospital is only 3kms away.

Hey Diamond, where are you kiting Thursday/Friday. I'll join ya and let's go big.

As a nationality, the clog stompers seem to pretty much kill it with the megaloop dominance. Even the unknown travellers seem to often be the hardest loopers at any particular occasion.
