As one of the organisers I'm happy to anounce that the 2010 Nationals will be held in Melbourne during the month of Febuary official dates will be posted shortly but this is going to be won of the biggest kiting events ever!!!! I'll keep everyone posted on details as to what will run where and when but from whats been discussed so far it looks to be huge.

it should have been in alva beach NQ- where the conditions are spont on.

Melbs i doubt many people will go

this will be a nationals to remember and where really keen to get everyone over for it even if it means i have to drive around aus and pick people up in my little rude bus but we will do our best to accomadate all

Will this in any way tie in with any other festival??? ie St Kilda Festival??? Anyone remember a couple of years ago they had the king of winch event on the beach in front of St Kilda Sea Baths.... pulled massive crowds.... heaps of mainstream media coverage etc... would be sic!!!

tied in with St Kilda festival would be massive, you could get people watching all along the beach and the pier, maybe have the judges on that little patform in the water too

St kilda festival is on the second Sunday of February, usually attracts crowds of over 300,000 people to St kilda.

St Kilda is an awesome spot to have freestyle/wakestyle - All the spectators stand just upwind on the pier and watch the moves! You could have some big speakers pumping out tunes and it would feel like a snowboarding competition.

I hope its a raving success!

Yeah St Kilda Festival would be sic... tunes etc.... think about having a boarder cross aswell, just ask anyone who went to Mackay last year, it's a big hit, especially with crowds
