My guess is that a lot of people have been injured because they were trying to save their kite from damage.

Had a friendly word with three Euros yesterday, all beginners, all with top-shelf new gear, and all with surfboard leashes from ankle to twintip handle. It was the first they'd heard that this could be dangerous!

The education process never ends - every summer a new slew of kooks. For the sake of access (and perhaps concern for people who don't yet know better), if you see something, please say something (as constructive as possible, infuriating though the repetitiveness may be).

The funny part is I know this place although I don't know anyone in the video. Its a dam in Johannesburg, about 700km's inland from the coast. I've kited there a couple of times. Gusty as all hell but it was all we had at the time.
