The answer is no, but after reading the post about someone sticking thier fingernail back on with tape to get back out in the water, and given the wide range of experience and intellectual ability cruising this forum, i thought there would have to be a few cracker home repair jobs involving gaffer tape, boards/bodies/cars/girlfriends etc.

I busted a finger during footy last year, couldnt straighten it so i made a splint with a metal ruler and gaffer tape, slept on it overnight and hey presto it was straight again, but unfortunately i couldnt bend it. went to docs a year later (took my time admittedly) and he said " yes its fractured and you what???if u came in when u did it it'd be fixed, but its fked now, well done" i still cant hold a bloody fork properly..idiot

I split me face open once surfing trying an air and landing on the fins. I thought it was ok because I touched it and there was no blood. By the time I got out the back again my mate looked at me, went a bit white and said "dude what the **** happened to your face?" haha. So I paddled in and by then it was bleeding everywhere, so I went to the surf club and they tried to butterfly clip it, but all the blood just made them fall off... So they told me I had to go to the doctor... I had no money and was in a place that I didnt even know where the doctor was, so like any good man I grabbed some gaffer tape and toilet paper and taped up my head. Worked a treat, however eventually some people made me go to the doctor, pretty sweet the dude was cool about it and did it for free. Story over.

Funny you should ask,....
when my daughter stacked her treddley and busted her chin open, we took her to the hospital and they used glue instead of stiches to patch her up !!

Might make a "board off" rather tricky if you use it to stop yer feet slipping out if yer foot straps tho ?

Myeh.. some of these are confusing duct and gaffa - but it seems most equate them as the same.


And like I said - careful when ripping it orf - it can rip ya lips orf!
