I would move there .What has happened to the once benign climate of Newcastle ? Now it's Blistering hot one minute ,freezing the next (just like Melbourne) .That's if you didn't enjoy the previous 2 weeks serving of NTH Qld and Dawinian weather of opressively muggy and regular storms and torrential rain. To top it all off either no wind or getting smashed by 35 kts with one
NE wind every 2 weeks

Lach, I've been reviewing your latest posts. You report you don't want to live in a sauna, el nino is doing your head in, the weather is making you think of wearing polo neck black sweaters and reading the sundays at a cafe with a cappa.

Mate, is there more to this disgruntlement than just the lack of kiting? If so, please pm me mate because I believe Newcastle/Lake Macquarie is some of the best living in the world.

How good was that SSW 4-6 foot session we had at Dicko a few weeks ago?

I was out there a few days later and tacked up to Leggie.

C'mon mate, I always saw you as a glass half full kinda guy.

Next Nor Easter, we'll get the boys (Phil, Brodie, Jack, Chris, Rick, Webbie, Macka, John, Warwick, Col etc etc etc.) together for a downwinder, Nobbies to Hams, that ought to cheer you up for christmas eh?

It's actually la nina that is doing my head in .bring back el nino and farmer misery .it was great for wind junkies .You never know we could get lucky only 33 days till christmeas going on current form we will get 2 opportuities for the NE downwinder .Now i believe that you are being a bit cup half empty on me being cup half empty . I actually gave a pretty positive reply in the Merimbula post and tried to cheer u up. A 100% chance of kiting over a 4 day period with 2 of the 4 days being likely kiting days sounds pretty darn good to me and worth driving a long way to the best part of NSW (BTW I have found that going the inland route is the quickest unless you want to drop in on some pretty epic spots along the way (There you go my cup brimeth over )

You're right John, Lach you have been a sour pus lately. Forget the la nini el watsit & just make use of any opportunity. While you were pouring your heart out on this forum I was alone at Dixon from 6pm til nearly 8 in epic 25 knot SSW. Get your mind back on the game!
& my glass is feelin' pretty full

I've been pondering a hypothetical situation where kiter 1 is on a wave carving it up down the line, blissfully unaware that there is a kiter surfing the wave behind him.
Kiter 2 is surfing the wave behind another guy, kiter 1, for arguement sake. Allegedly kiter 2 is going through menopause & is convinced he's going to collide with kiter 1.
So, what is the outcome?

Don't do that mate, I, for one, appreciate your humour..

Totally agree with you, humid, hot, cold, rain etc etc, weather is sending us all bit crazy.

It's becoming a fine art to catch the rare kiteable wind these days.

I'm just leaving for Merimbula, it's pissing rain, there's 20knots of southerly blowing here and there's reports of a truck crash and delays on the F3.

Get out there today Lach.

I'm feeling a little insane right now too.

Having just braved the Sydney traffic and spent an hour and a half in a cab, I can safely say that nothing could convince me to move to sydney permanently. i'd rather drink petrol and piss on a fire.

3.30 small but fun, 6pm starting to get a bit awkward with such onshore wind at knobbies. 1 windsurfer out as well. Didn't look inviting but hey, 25 knot & water temp of 18 loads of fun, just ignore the rain.
You snooze, you lose
