Hello,
I'm heading to Aitutaki, Cook Islands in June for a kite trip and was wondering (more hoping) if I should pack the hydrofoil board?
The biggest attraction to Aitutaki is the shallow lagoons which I assume are too shallow for a hydrofoil. Are there any other places to ride?

You can foil in places......perhaps the best,is the sandbar west of One Foot (Tapuaeti Island)

There's vid of this on youtube somewhere...should be easy to find

You'll need to get there.......you can charter a boat/water taxi......

yes you can kite through the lagoon to the sandbar but note there are, in places, LOTS of bommies that break the surface at low....not the thing to hit nor drop your lines over!

They're easy to see and avoid but you need to be aware....

Maina has limited opportunites but we've seen foils there for a couple of years.....seen some good shallow water crashes too!

Excess gear incurs xs charges on airline....budget for it
