is it ment to be funny? its not really an advert surely? am i going to end up in that location kiteing in 3 years time because i watched this like some sort of subconscious level brainwashing? am i ment to know the person?

I wanted your attention to be on the chic with the school uniform. Now that would be awesome if it were real!

But I really wanted to know... is how to water start in >>very<< shallow water (fin depth). Any tips (pardon the pun)?

Can I have the 40 seconds of my life back that I just wasted on that video. I was expecting some bloopers or high speed running dismounts from hitting sand bars not that nonsense.

If you are worried about your board sticking either lay down with feet up or put the board a bit in front of you so it floats and jump on the tail when the kite is about to hit the zone
Either way lean back and let her fly

Keep practising is the secret
Learnt a nose to tail grab on the jump switch today, stoked with that

Usually if the edge catches to much you just fall on your ass. I much prefer that to riding with a flat board and having the toeside edge or nose catch the sand, and faceplanting into 5cm deep water, and then getting dragged along my stomach.

Yeah that would work too, I guess you'd be more reliant on the kite giving you lift so the edge of the board doesn't bite too deep?

I was advised, Don't ride toeside fast in shallow water.

But of course I had done it a few times, so I knew better, and its so much fun. So smooth.

Until the board slipped-out from under me and wedged between my thigh and the sand as I got pulled over it by the kite.

Thought I had broken a femur at first. ...nasty. Ended up with a quadriceps muscle neatly chopped almost in half and a massive hematoma that kept me off the water for weeks.

Physio said she had never seen such a severe muscle injury without the associated skin damage... I guess the wetsuit may have protected the skin from the sharp board edge.

One day I was mowing the lawn at cotton tree. Now this guy on a switchblade 10 m was short tacking me for like 45 mins non stop. I was seeing fire when I closed my eyes and was waiting for him to just fall off and let the tide whip his board out the river mouth. But alas the kite gods were on my side and this dude was at top speed over the sand bar at cotton tree where his edge caught hard and he spudded in at warp speed. Now I have seen a couple of big spills and this ranked highly. He somehow kept the kite up but he wasn't in a good state.

I continued to just keep on lawn mowing while he picked himself up, and then watched him gingerly body drag with his board back across the channel to shore near the caravan park. Moral of the story.. if you short tack and be a bell end in shallow water <15cm then expect to be given a dose of reality.

To Mr Cabrinha 10 m switchblade that day back 3 summers ago in cotton tree with the bung foot.
