I had a mate at work turn me a stamp up, stuck the stamp in the oven at 250'"c waited for it to heat up. removed the valve from the bladder cleaned both surfaces placed a small sheet of greaseproof paper and paper towel inside the bladder to separate the 2 layers of plastic placed it all on a tile and stamped the valve onto the bladder. has anyone done this before and did it work???

Alot of valves on other inflatables are welded on, but it would be very hard to get the temp right.
Too cold you won't get penetration and too hot I bet you can guess.
Trial and error of temps but getting that heap everytime would be very hard

I just replaced all the valves on my 09 North Rhino 14m, just go to your local shop and buy replacement ones, I had to do 14 of them, be trucked if I was going to be stamping all of them. I paid 17$ each cause I bought 12 in one go. I was really easy, just peal the old ones then, clean the bladder surface with the provided alcohol swab, flatten out the bladder with the hole in the centre, take the back of the new valve, place it centered over the hole then rub it down hard starting in the middle and working to the outside. They are really sticky and seal well, I haven't had a blow out yet in 6 or seven goes on the big gal and I pump her up to 10psi.You might be able to get them cheaper of the net if you buy them in bulk. That my advice..

Oneday,
A stupid dump valve was hell leaking on me.
It was super annoying.
The surf and wind was totally epic so I glued up the dump valve.
It fixed the problem.
I had an insane sesh.
After the kite session, I deflated the kite thru it's inflate valve.
Gee I'm good at fixing kites.
lol.

Hope it works for you, great idea. A welders glove may be better than a riggers. I'm not gonna ask about the ear plug ....... really . cheers, J

Yeah thats what happened to mine in the shed for a year, one let go, fixed that then another let go, then another, so I did them all. You just gotta look at the price to replace the bladders vs the valves and thats still cheaper. Be Good to see how you go, mabe try getting a Maxi kite repair kit, you can get them on ebay pretty cheap.

I don't ever leave my kites in the car in summer after the 14m let go.

wkids, thanks for sharing, would be good to hear how they go.

I have always used glue to fix the valves, works ok but need to allow drying time (overnight is possible, 1hr if wind is up). Now keep a couple of 'stick ons' in the repair kit for any 'on the beach' repairs.

I've got a bunch of dump valves in amongst my box of L.E. bladders.
I could cut one out and post it to you in an envelope with a 60 cent stamp.
Do you need any glue ?

I did similar repairs to the strut valves on my 2006 Slingshot Fuel back in the day. Only difference is I used the tip of an iron to do it after a bit of practise on an old bladder first to get the temp right without melting things. Repairs lasted at least 2 years until I sold the kite.

did a few on my 07 boxer. Just glued with aquaseal ($20) using a large socket from a socket set with a lump hammer on it to weight it down while it dried. Still fine after 2 years. Wasn't keen on spending $20 a pop for new self adhesive valves.
