Check your wind graphs folks, today up here was scary between 4pm and 6pm. One wipe out = sprained wrist, almost dislocated shoulder and a creased wave board. All in the same splattering.

Hope you all had something far more rewarding today.

Feeling a bit pulled out of shape myself . I dunno where 58kn comes from but a solid 30 with gusts coming throug @ corro about 5 .30, big airs and nice waves to surf and boost of, the Len10 lunacy goes nice for powerd riding. Sorry bout the injuries Gav you will be right by the weekend .Toughen Up!

Around Perth was pretty serious too! It was peaking around 30knots easily at the 'Point'. Mega air was to be had and some insane speed runs on butter flat water right on the beach. Those high wind days are not good for getting techy but certainly get the adrenal glands flowing.

This is my 7th day kiting in a row my body aches and skin is burnt - lets make it 8!

Gav, you've inspired me!

I'm coming back (for a visit at least).

I'll be in the car before 5am tomorrow so you should see me at the point by about 3pm, make sure you leave me some wind

Felix - I was on a 7m kite, fully pulled down with no more depower in it. I was going down wind towards the kite when a gust came through that just accellerated me ridiculouslyand then the nose caught some chop.

Insomniac - See you out there.

Get Funky - The board will repair no worries, the body...

Mini - Have taken my medicine and will be harder than concrete by Sunday. Have my pink shirt ironed though, just in case I'm relegated to kite catcher for the weekend.

Anyone heading out to the Nukara music festival Saturday night?.

Not that new board? what a beautiful piece of workmanship that is / was, you should post a pix of how good a wave board can look !

We were lucky enough to get a great day at Coros on Wednesday, you guys are so blessed with top spots up there.

We were there at Coro on Friday on the way back from Shark Bay and that was the best session of the trip!
Got in at about 4.00 and out by 5.30 after an epic session out back in that awesome groundswell, well overpowered on my 9 tho...
Will be back up soon, absolutely tops spot...

Yeah Hirsch, tell us about the board. Looks hot.

Dimensions ? Quad or Thruster?

Nice looking straps - what brand

What's it like? Spill the beans

Yeper, it's a Bruce Montgomery. Of course every rider has their perferences, I love this board.
It's a thruster (three fin) with a future fin set up (fin boxes) all other dimensions are top secret, call Bruce as I like to respect the shaper and his work. I asked him to keep everything the same from the last one, just make it a tad longer. The old one is 5'8. (Deano G has that one down in Perth)

We decided to try the fish tail for snap. It has fairly straight rails between the feet which gives it exceptional straight line stability when not riding waves going toe or heelside.

The fish tail does exactly what Bruce said it would, very snappy off the turns, absolutely beautiful.

It's a custom specific kite/wave board with footstrap plugs either side of the stringer to maintain the integrity. Plug placement is for my stance. Extra glass under the feet and in some other spots similar to his big wave tow in designs. The footstraps are some old Starboard straps I stole from one of my wife's wave sailing boards, which work just fine.

It's not epoxy, as I didn't want to change too many things as the last one was so good. Maybe next year we will try epoxy.

I'm happy to let crew try out the board, a few have already. So if you see me on the beach, feel free to ask for a go. You know what the board looks like now.

One more thing or two...
Pads are from Mark Stone, and art work on the board is mine, basic.

Nice one hirsch

The swallow tail looks great to me - helps to keep the rails straight through the middle of the board but still plenty of curve in the tail to turn on

Good one
