Interesting..... As most wavekiters would know he has been riding a Generator C kite on a fixed bar for years, I didn't think we would ever see him on an SLE.

kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2353499&start=40

I believe that you really need a company behind you 100% that will listen to your ideas and r&d needs with a great understanding of kiting them selves.
I really want to ride as much as I can pushing the wave side of the sport and eclipse is really into supporting that program.
Got my hands on a Kima 6 and rode it for a whole day.I Was really surprised on how small it was and how it turned.First Sle that I could go down the line with with out it doing anything funny while I was unhooked. This is just the beginning with lots of great things in the works.

I guess he was offered more to switch to Eclipse. He took the Generator a long way with Airush and it is at the pinnacle of the "c's". He probably feels he can contribute more to an emerging brand, and there is no doubt Eclipse will get more out of Felix than Airush will going forward.

I still haven't tried the Generator, however I know that those that ride them love them, but I'm guessing if you like them you had better stock up.
Airush have never seemed to promote them and I think with Felix going so will the Generator, don't quote me I could be wrong but I think that it just didn't appeal to the masses like the Flow, Vapor, DNA.

felix got booted, he didnt drop airush. and yeah i dont get why airush doesnt promote the generators, it was by far the best kite i have flown from them ever.

i doubt they will drop the gennies as there is still Tom herbert and now Gisela that will be riding them, if they did drop the gennie i would be shocked. they should put more effort into promoting the gennies to wave riders and freestylers alike instead of the vapors.

I laughed my ass with the thought of Felix looking like Fabio

Maybe he should cut his hair/ could be why he got dropped from Airush - they may have thought his 80's hair do wasnt what they were wanting to promote
in line with their brand

man thats just crazy, whats next ruben mega looping on a waroo???

after pushing the generator so hard with fixed/unhooked super far fwd flying etc. to then go to an SLE..... really it just says that pro riders can rip on anything (not that we have really seen him ripping on the kima yet.)

It will be very interesting to see what the 2010 Kima will be like with felix's input.

Apparently there is an Eclipse "C" kite on the horizon so it is starting to make more sense.

Dimitri and his Eclipse Kite Co really milk the Kiteforum.
There seems to be an Eclipse thread always in progress.
It's a marketing approach that may work very well for them with the mass exposure.
BEST invented it but fell out of favour with the punters.
Eclipse has learnt from BEST's mistakes and has improved the model.
Now that Jeff Pfeffer (Surfingwithkites) has been taken on board too by Dimitri,
Eclipse now has a very literate forum-writer to talk-up the product.....
as well as an in-house photographer and boardshaper.
Felix lacks a little on the literal side, but makes up for it with his Fabio looks and his ripping.
Bridle kites are apparently the new cool for wavekiting.....
the C is dead.

I agree with Eclipse dominating alot of the topics on kiteforum, but alot are also started by the end user's such as Kevin Salters topics which are very interesting and according to him the Eclipse kites are the dogs b ll cks. I don't think he has a personal interest in the company but you never know but he really likes the kites.

I have the 08 Nano 9m and 12m, initially I had issues with them but I am getting used to them. I found they are not as refined like the Cabrinhas and Slingshots in regards to ease of use but I have not tried the 09 models yet.

The one thing about Eclipse is their hands on approach in regards to answering questions on the forums and with the addition of Felix and Jeff should be good informative reads.

I say go for it guys and knock the well known companies (that rely on their names) off their pedestals.

Cheers
Rich

Hi Guys,
The C kite will be out in the spring I would have to say
Dimitri and the team have been putting in a load of time on it and it is in it's final stages.

Doubt it, if you wanted to fly unhooked on the waves why would you bother flying an SLE that was designed for hooked in riding? Small c-kites make sense if you want to ride unhooked in the waves, their only limitation is that they make it difficult to go "right" in local perth conditions, but SLE would work better for hooked in stuff anyway,

Thanks
Matt
