Does anyone have experience kiting the far south coast that they can share. Heading to Bawley Point this christmas and looking for spots. By google maps there seems to be NE beaches and SE beaches but has anyone tried them?? Is there a data base of south locations because I cant find any. I have been to south Durrus in a S/Eer and been in the entrance to Wallaga lake(fun but small flat water)further down. Hope someone can help

Really just a matter of taking your gear and going out. If there's wind and water (and waves) you can kite-so many places down there it's ridiculous-enjoy!

There's nothing. The entire coast terminates in a 200 ft cliff that stretches from the Victorian border to Jervis Bay.

Sorry.

I live near lots of beaches and some r better than others. What I'm asking is has anyone found somewhere that they rate highly. and thanks go out to the 200ft guy, special people or unfortunate retards (whichever is the politically correct) should be allowed to have a say too.

You're allowed to have a say. And we are allowed to have a giggle.

You have to understand - every year hordes of tourists come here, fling themselves up against the beach/rocks, camp/crap every year and generally make it harder for the local kiters to keep access to local spots.

So, it's not that you are being spurned, specifically. It's just that people don't generally advertise all their local spots for anyone and all to see on the internet. Unless they are retards.

thats nice! back to your community center now. No more need for your comments. Just want to here from happy sociable people who enjoy the company of others and would be happy to share their knowledge and maybe even go kiting with others. You know, what normal people do.

Mate kiter789 is right-people are very reluctant to name spots-it's not rocket science-take your gear with you-when there's wind scout about-there are SO many places to ride all along our coast-go forward, safely with a sense of adventure and discovery, and enjoy......

How do you guys rate Green Island in a nor easter? I can see it blows offshore in by the sand spit but is it kiteable given that the beach sweeps around further down wind? Would we get in the way of the surfers?

Nah you don't want to kite there and yes you would be in the way of the surfers when the swell is on.

Kiter 789 is horribly misinformed. There are small bays and inlets hidden all along the cliff.

It's just too bad that Tobes controls access.

(and yeah, the surfers really do get a little uptight if you kite at green island)

green island is mostly frequented by fat mal riders from sydney who double arm paddle to catch waves and who could not turn a handle let alone a surfboard but still think they rip(least on the weekends it is)... who cares what they think anyway...
oh yeah and moruya goes off big time

hey you souldn't have any problems at green island the reef that you surf on is way out on the south side of the island and is seltered and is gutsy as hell in ne winds, you tend to kite more in the bay(along the sand bar)nobody surfs there
