Would you kite in Albany itself?
There was no wind in Perth about a month ago and we drove down to Augusta and there was next to no wind. The next day (with the same forecast) we drove to Albany and it was blowing hard.
No one was kiting there. Is there a reason? Are there better places nearby than just in the harbour?
Albany looked good with a few windy shallow spots, although it was noticably cooler than Augusta.
Why no kiters?
There's a good chance we'll be discussing the exact opposite thing this time next year cause people keep advertising the sht out of these locations. Hey! Lure in a dozen vans of idiots while you're at it and they'll probably manage to get kiting banned from these spots indefinitely. Fair enough if you haven't viewed spruiking as an issue up until now..... or.... is there just old people on here and they don't intend on riding in a few years to come when there's dangerous amounts of kites out and it sux cause there's no room to try new tricks? Unfortunately surfing (as awesome as it is!) has become an overcrowded joke. It's sad but is true... and it'll happen to kiting quicker than you can say ' ummm where the F did all these dudes come from man?' (pending if we have any good spots left to ride cause the visitors don't give a **** and the council's stepped in). Well alot of us have been saying that for the last couple of years.... if you haven't yet, you soon will.
Oh I'm sure there'll be some intellectual responses against my post in regards to me not owning the beach, me not knowing what I'm talking about & those wondering where's the friendly kiting spirit's going? I'll reply to ur BS now as I'm not taking my chill pill... Whatever mate! You're a hero.
I'm not really an angry dude. I'm just frustrated that our sic local kiting community is being ruined in front of us by us. Hey, can we have an open house party at your house next weekend and can we go out of our way to post it on the net?
Slow down on the spruiking and crapping on & start riding!!
Someone pulled me up on labelling the location of a photo I posted a few years ago. Thank you as I learnt something.
Ummm for that particular spot it's all over now anyway. It's ruined/gone/mc fk'd. However you want to say it.
