Just curious about how guys are running the Switch Element v5. I've got about 10 sessions on my 9 meter, my main kite, side to side on down the line wave riding. I've been on 20m lines on the stock setting and it's great, but was a bit under powered the other day and put on the 23m lines... turning was a bit slow so I moved to the "pivot" setting. I think I'm digging the feel with 23's and this setup...what are you guys running and what do you like/dislike? I'm mainly strapless surfing now, with strapped sessions when it's super windy or big surf. Thanks!
I have a 10m E5 & really like the pivot setting on 20m lines.
Underpowered, what winds /board /weight ?
My thinking is that what power you gain on 23,s you loose on speed through the window - so I have been on 20m lines for as long as I can remember, I only ride surfboards.
Great kites, waiting for them to go on sale to get an 8m.![]()
I was mainly having problems because the wind was super gusty and shifty and also fighting some good current getting up to the point. I haven't tried 20 meter lines on the pivot setting yet, I'm sure that's really good setup especially on the really powered up days. Do you notice any difference with where the kite sits in the window on the two settings?
I only flew my 10 on the standard setting once, then changed to pivot. Pretty sure it only effects turning speed & also doesn't produce as much power through the turn.
Maybe you should be on a 10m? or get a Vader or Evo, these boards fly upwind.
Switch currently has 1/2 price on controller 3 bar atm....
They come with 20m lines
Plus 3m exteneders....
Awesome value with any kite.
P.s if you like 23m lines
Youll love 26m....especially if you like to loop. ![]()
