Any know wher i can get a new spring for my Eel reel?
Im only new so im useing the leash till im a bit better and it works for me.
Any help whould be sweet.

People just don't get it. I came across a guy teaching his girlfriend (~60 kilos) yesterday at Pinnaroo Point in a mere 28-32 knots on a 6m 08 Airush DNA

She was wearing a harness, life vest, helmet and a nice reel leash connecting her to a 2009 North board.

For those that don't know, North 2009 FR fins have trailing edges sharp enough to slice tomatoes.

I told him to dump the leash and his response was that "She'll likely lose the board". I replied better the board that her head.

To give them credit, they packed up and went home soon after, and did disconnect the leash.

Kite Killer don't listen to them, if you understand the mechanics of a leash and use it sensibly then any risk involved is greatly mitigated.

LOL! You're absolutely right. In my 10 years of participating in and teaching this sport, I have learned nothing of value. You should ignore my experience.

Kitehard your post sucks, all your did was say the leash is bad. Heres a bloke thats coming to you for advice and is obviously aware that the leash is bad.

With your 10 years experience you could offer him a range of knowledge and background but instead all your said was the leash is bad, sighting some example that has absolutely nothing to do with his question.

I like your example Darren. 30 knots and a learner sounds like a recipe for some decent teabagging with 4 razor sharp fins chasing her down.
Not only is learning to body drag necessary but it will teach you to control your kite for when you grab your board. I wonder if giving learners some kind of boogy board for learning to body drag would make it more fun.

this happened to a guy on his first day of his holiday in Bali, didnt even make it into his board. Little gust of wind hit him and lifted him and board flicked back and hit him. Felt sorry for him, had to walk down and grab his kite and land it for him. I think nearly 30 stitches including internal and external. Think he was a guy from Tassy. Wasnt a kook or anything just got caught out.
