What are the differences between Delta and SLE kites?

if you read SLE as supported leading edge, then Deltas may fit in to that category.
if you say the difference is that a Delta has a circular LE curve and SLE's more Parabolic then that might start to get brand and model specific.

some where else it was claimed a Airush DNA is a Delta.

They seem on average to
1. present single front point in plan view.
2. also in plan view have a predominantly straight TE.
3. use a front bridle with a travelling pulley at the front line connection point.
4. get copied by IDiotS
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

There's a delta kite for ya.

I was about 15 at the time. Pulled me on my body board in 40kts of wind in about 1994. It broke after about 20 mins.
I then quit kitesurfing for 12 years.

as far as i understand it originally delta kites were triangular in shape with a main strut from the straight trailing edge to the point at the front. And two strutrs from the wing tips to the point at the front. But often the trailing edge was double concave as in my picture.

I think the term "delta" was probably bastardised when applied to traction kites.

wish i still had that shirt

agree, a delta is originally a 2 lines accrobatique type of kite (I think we say "stunt kite" in English?) in a triangulaire shape, it flies incredibly fast and can provide serious pull! (the French for hang-glider is deltaplane)

The brand Fone is calling their Bandit kites "delta C-shape"... to my humble opinion, this is mostly clever marketing to claim an innovation (which is not evident or not really significant) & in an attempt to diferenciate from competition.

cheers
