Looks like we have the potential for some heavy weather coming over the next week.
This is what you get when you pay the BOM for your weather forecasts:

Monday
Low. A system may be developing well north of Western Australia near the monsoon trough.
Also, a weak system may be located near the Top End.
Tuesday
Moderate. A strengthening system may be well north of the west Pilbara coast, moving west-southwest.
Also, a strengthening system may be located near the Top End, moving west-southwest.
Wednesday
High. A strengthening system is likely to be north of the NW Cape region, moving west-southwest.
Also, a strengthening system may be located near the JB Gulf and Timor Sea, moving west-southwest.
Thursday
High. A strengthening system will likely be far northwest of the NW Cape region, moving west-southwest.
Also, a strengthening system may be located near the Timor Sea, JB Gulf and adjacent Kimberley coast.
Friday
High. An intense system could be located far northwest of the NW Cape region, moving west-southwest.
Also, a weakening system may be located near the JB Gulf or inland, moving southeast.
Saturday
High. An intense system could be located far west-northwest of the NW Cape region, moving west-southwest.
Sunday
High. An intense system could be located far west of the NW Cape region, moving west-southwest.

Nothing on BOM (Public site) but looks like it wont be that way for long.

HA, there is a lot of may be and could be in there

I dont think they want to commit to anything, they better have a nice wide top rail on the fence out the front to sit on cause thats where they are all week

Generally the BOM SSU (special services unit) forecasts are pretty accurate. These are custom made for various oil platforms and exploration rigs.
It will be interesting in this case to see how it pans out as they are forecasting a fairly full on change to what we have right now. When they start describing cyclones as intense a week before they even exist (on the non subscriber site) it gets your attention.

Watch and wait (and maybe start cleaning your yard if you are in the Pilbara)

The vessel I'm on was alerted to it about 4 days ago we've now demobilised and pulling anchors to run from it.

Funny you check the BOM website and there's no mention of cyclones and the 3 day weather maps would not suggest any cyclones. Yet the “pay for it” forecast has been harping on about it now for a few days.

The passageweather.com website Southern Indian Ocean weather maps has some cyclone activity forecast off North West Australia.

^^^ and yet the oil and gas industry still gets caught with their pants down by a cyclone every year. It's only inevitable a major spill (not just your typical spill under a couple of hundred tonne) will happen eventually.

I bet your company will spit it if they find out you are quoting from SSU, I've seen it done on weather forums and it doesn't go down too well.
