Woodies is becoming fairly busy and the access thoroughfare to the west beach is quite narrow. Can you ensure that you rig your kites at least 10m from the thoroughfare so that other kiters and windsurfers can get through.



P.S. flying your kite through the carpark is not cool, it's just dangerous.

Please tell me that you are not serious? Have you ever been to a busy beach before? If you can't manage to fit you and your kit past those kites, you may want to consider the Tony Feruson diet.

The real bottom line here I guess is that if you cant handle crowds just dont come to Woodies. The gaggle on the beach is nothing to the duck and weave needed on the water.

Yeah it would be nice for there to be 10m, but why 10m? Why not 3-4m. It's a very minor issue, mostly on super crowded days.

It pales in significance to issues occuring on other beaches.

Every time I have been to Woodies I carry my rig over the kite lines that are laying on the ground, I even take care not to step on them, however after reading the comments about the photo (Which was and example of where NOT to set kites up) as opposed to a bad example of what happens when kites are laying across the thoroughfare, I think I will stomp all over the lines and leave my windsurfer exactly where the kiters rig up......

Grow up and realise that this is a simple request to share a small area of beach, lets not consider how much space 1 kite needs to rig up, you could rig 3 windsurfing kits in the same space, why cant we be able to not worry about tripping over lines that are half buried in the sand while carrying our rigs????

Instead of showing your imaturity show some courtesy PLEASE!

PS I launched a kite at Woodies last week coz the kiter could not even get one of his own to help him, does that tell another story????

I hate ranting but sometimes it's required.

Has anyone been to places like Cabarete (Dominican Republic) the kite beach can get real busy? But all you do is set your lines up, then if you`re not launching straight away just bring the bar to the kite folding the lines in half. If you do that slowly the lines wont tangle. You can even fold them again to make even more space for others. When you land the kite just do the same. I do this almost all the time, especially when I`m not going to launch straight away or having a rest. That way there`s space for other people to use the beach. And I`m not worried every time a dog comes running past. I guess it all boils down to common courtecy, but let`s not even go there.

I think what's really need is a bigger car park and better beach access.

I reckon a car park and decent beach access at the northern bay (offshore) would be a dream come true .....
