hi, i have a cardboards tempo with the large cardboard fins and i want the board looser. anyone with the small cardboard fins who wants to swap let me know. (mine are a little bit scratched, if yours are a bit beat up i can cope)

alternately, i may cut mine down. guessing its much easier to cut off the base of the fin and just drill and tap the screw holes a bit deeper rather than refoiling the whole fin.

any experiences with this sort of stuff?

cheers, dojo

Why not just take off the heelside fins?

hey saffer, i suspect that would give me most of what i'm after, but will it then be too slippery in fast carving heelside gybes?

of course i could just go try it out and learn something for myself. come on huey!

Heelside carves should be fine, as long as you're on your edge the fins won't make that much of a difference, its mainly when you flatten off that it becomes slippery. The toeside fins should give you some direction when landing jumps flat so the board doesn't slip out.

To be honest, I haven't tried it, but its something I've heard of a couple of guys doing and it doesn't cost you anything to try it as an alternative.

if your doin heelside "gybes" i would stick with big fins hahaha.
but seriously you can just grind down the fin to required size, its not that har to do.
