interested to see pics but even with awesome wind was it worth over $1300 for 3 days of kiting and a day driving..? honest question i just couldnt justify working it into my cairns trip in a month.

As for the value of the trip, for me it's worthwhile as I don't get much time off work, so having everything organised for me lets me kite for 3 days straight and not worry about anything else..(food, accomodation, transport..etc). Similar cost to a 3-4 day snow trip.

$1,300 for 3 days kiting is $433. Unless you live in cairns- by the time you factor in airfares and accomodation to get to cairns its a pretty expensive holiday. Probably cheaper to fly to the cook islands for 2wks.

The Kitesurfari I went on was awesome!

The return flight from Perth wasn't that expensive, and I was able to time the inflight so I got picked up from the airport and then chauffeured straight up to the cape.

There is a lot of very cheap accommodation in Cairns, so if you need a room for one night on the way out, it's cheap as chips.

The wind didn't stop the whole trip, so it was kiting from dawn to dusk everyday, we had to be reminded to come in for a feed every now and then.
The food was great for such a remote location and there was more than enough for all.

The camp itself was basic, but very comfortable, sink, BBQ, tables, chairs, hot shower, toilet, esky.
To hear that the facilities have been upgraded is great, and to keep the prices the same is even better.

Ant is a top bloke, very friendly and runs a good operation.
The only thing you have to worry about is kiting, kiting and kiting.

I've been twice and almost went again this June, possibly will go back later in the year work permitting.

It's basically guaranteed 4 days kiting, not 3. you kite on the day of arrival and on the day of departure. If you have enough energy to kite on the last day you simply didn't give it your all .. I was exausted by day 3 and stopped a lot more than I wanted :). It seems a shame to waste wind time but your body will give up after 24 hours of relentless bliss.

Conditions are awesome for flatwater and kickers, warm as, perfect sunsets. I also did a night kite when I ws there in August last year, and have the photos to prove it :):):).. Crocs? what's that?.. just don't fall in after dark, eheheh. (just kidding)

As far as care factor: Ant deserves a 100% for effort and now that there is a gentler touch on hand (go Paulie).. you really can't complain at all.

I will recommend this trip over and over, and I will be going every year. It's 98% guaranteed 4 days kiting.. can you get it anywhere else?

If you think it's to expensive why not hire a car between 2 people and go there for a fraction of the cost? Then you can make a trip out if it and stay for a week or two

If you have $300 plus to burn a day on a kite trip good luck to you but as alot of us don't you can get the same conditions as Flattery without travelling the same distance.

For me 3 days is nowhere near enough. Last year I kited 12 days straight 18-25 knots every day, flat water , the body just keeps going, then I had to go home

anywhere north of Cape Tribulation along the coast you will find 20+knts with epic kiting locations and big beaches.
Getting out to the islands, cays and reefs is special and definitely a highlight out there too.
Both North East and North West Coast of Australia blows your mind and kites..
