... yes you can,,,,,, but... the feel of the kite will be different, some say better some say worse.
I personally found the kite didn't go upwind as well on a low V and steering wasn't as precise but then the static lift improved so made jumps feel more hangy. Lighter guys seemed to like the low V feel where as heavy ar$e guys like me preferred the higher Y.
One thing though, make sure you trim your lines to suit the new geometry, make your steering lines roughly 5cm longer or the kite will stall in lighter winds. I can't remember but I think that the front pig tails may have different knots to attach too, to compensate for the change ie use the higher or closer to the kite knots when using low V style of lines.
