Unleashed my coffin lid for the first time today. 10-15 knots perfect conditions. Others were doing the walk of shame.
Not this white man! She was all cranken upwind like a demon!

oh yeah, smooth through the chop and good pop for jumps.

Couple it with my 15m speed and there's some powered riding 10-15 knots.

Sweet plummett, awesome. Must admit my light wind TT purchase is one of the best pieces of equipement I have ever bought...

But you have made your own...which is just superb!! Do those rails narrow through the middle? I mean does the board width narrow near the middle?

No its an illusion. Parrallel rails.

Yes there is something super sweet about making and riding your own boards. You get that extra bit of joy.

Its like baking a cake without a recipe. you don't know how it will turn out until your done. It could be a disaster... But not this time.

You should have heard my whoots and hollas today. best 10-15 knots session on the water I have ever had. Particularily since every other kiter was doing the walk of shame! Not me charging upwind like loon.

Alas I failed in training the missis to iron anything for me!!!... sadly I have to do my own ironing.

I will make a point of iron my shirts on it just for you.

Ta ta ta want some lessons haven't ironed in years. But I know what ya mean, its a glorious feeling being powered in those winds and having a ball! I have had several sessions by myself this winter just me, my board and a zephyr. Getting a bit lonely though to be quite honest

I think you have a small window of ironing training in the first couple of years. After that the ship sailes well and truly off into the distance.

Pattie 600grm triaxle with and extra stringer of triaxle between the footpads top and bottom.
I just resin off the rails. Works sweet as. I haven't had a problem with my other board. In truth I don't see any point in abs or urethane rails for wood core boards.

Awesome board mate. I love the assymetrical tail. I didnt see the other fingers and had to look twice at the 2 dicks, I thought there might be copyright issues with waveslave's avitar.
Nice optical illusion!

man.

Rode today. 13m edge in the rain. not even enough wind to launch properly. Had to reverse launch then run and loop to start. Whoot. up and going and staying upwind. There was some weird massive ground swell rolling in and I was taking up and down in the shallows using the push and suck back of the white wash to stay upwind. Then saw some waves breaking 1km out to sea on an outer reef. Cruised out and found myself stearing down house sized line up and very little wind maybe 13 knots.????

I ended up riding this double me lumpy face praising the board building gods that I endowed this board with rocker. I rode the monster out and got the hell back to shore.

super super stoked. I can ride big waves with this heathen. who would have thought???? certainly not me.

So thank you to the men that suggesting I should put concave in this board. Its definitely made it a better rough conditions charger and saved my arrse from a massive hammering today.

Ha ha yeh ya right dave...classic.

Cool design hey.

So in the end what were the final dimensions plummett and how much rocker (and its geometry) and concave did you put in the coffin lid??

Give us some different angles man to look at.

146x45
50mm rocker
5mm concave in tween the bindings

I pressed the rocker in while laminating the glass on. The glass holds the rocker in place.

More pics to come.

Yeh perfect length and width, bet ya it doesn't feel big under foot at all.

Pics be good.

Great board to have on the beach in winter, during those extended lulls as the cloud comes in, then when she passes, change down to ya smaller TT without changing kite. And yeh they work well enough in the waves to!! Sweet.

Add a mako and ya got the perfect three board quiver...lol

Just trying stuff. Next trial is to remove the toeside fins. Too much finage can provide too much drag... But adds more grip ine rougher conditions.

next test. take the toeside find off and put them in the center fins and see how that goes. Then I might try no fins at all for some skim action.

Nice one

Had a great day in the surf yesterday with my Flydoor XL . . . this one wave, cutting back 'n' forth, it was like riding a half pipe - awesome!

That board has no toeside fins but taught me to ride the edge properly

Taken the toeside find out and put them in middle seems good.

bottom end seems to be 10 knots with the 15m speed.

The next test will be no fins and use it as a skim. Recon i'll be able to do a skim session down to 8 knots.

Had a random sea brease pull in and take the wind to 20 knots. peaking at 22knot. Now that is insanely powered on the 15 speed.

I could still hold an edge crank upwind and boost some mega floaty airs.

Very pleased.

Hmmmm..... an unusual thing had occured. This board is also great when the its windy. Had a powered session on the 10m today. 25 knots. Shoulder high waves. Held an edge sweetly. Great in the chop. Better in the chop yhan my mutant! ....

I think its a combo of the more rocker and more flexi tips. Stiff middle.

It might be a game changer foe tgr next mutant build....

I'm hearing ya. My light wind TT the cruiser doesn't have as much concave as yours and flatter so wouldn't be as near as comfortable but that being said it is so comfy and so good in the waves when the wind picks up and across the chop. I'm thinking I am liking bigger boards more and more for what we do.

Yesterday was on the zephyr and the cruiser from 2pm onwards was only 13 odd knots, was sharing it among two mates, by 4pm it has kicked in to 16 to 17 ish and was still easy holding it all together albeit super lit as was on the shortest knots on the bar float. Had some head high sets come through and it just worked a treat. ...

Until a did one two many back roll back loops into a wave and to my horror saw dry reef bed below me as I came through the loop. i avoided the reef by landing an ankle jarring landing way to much down wind and just ate shte from the wave. I think even 10 minutes later the crew were pissing themselves laughing when I came into swap. Pricks!! Lol
