Quiet day. Nugget and 14 evo. Big , big swell. Some say double over head at occa point. Blue reef as big as I have seen. Proably some overhead.
Not enough wind to ride waves - just a bit too much current in the power zone but good to be here.

Mate. You've been reined I reckon. But you had a good start by the sound of it. Even though the wind is thin ,the waves make up for it.

Need to talk to bobby about the pig. Heading down to rip curl for a beer soon. I think we are at the same place.

Cheap cocktails at 6 down there somewhere. The wife might like that?

13 July Wind Report - 1 Star day!
Wind started quite early at 07:30 about 9 up to 14 knots and stayed like that pretty much all day... Between 12:15 and 13:30 it increase 2 knots but then back off again.. Waves big head high to over head, big current.

12 July Wind Report - 2 Star day!
Wind picked up nicely at 11:15 about 10 up to 14 knots, got stronger at 12:30 about 12 to 18 knots and then dropped at 15:45 to not much for 30 minutes and when we tough it was end of the game it came back strong again... Waves bigger waist to head high..

11 July Wind Report - 2 Star day!
After another crappy weather morning wind picked up nicely at 12:15 about 12 up to 18 knots, dropped at 16:15... Waves still smallish around knee to waist!

10 July Wind Report - Stormy kiting day. 1 Star.
Windy since morning (09:00) about 10 up to 14 knots, got a bit better around 14:00 with couple of extra knots. Waves a bit bigger around waist to shoulder. For me 14m kite and Minimal..

09 July Wind Report - Stormy kiting day. Still 2 Stars.
Kitesurfing under the rain in July is something new but this year is what it is and we take everything...
Windy yince early morning (07:00) UP and DOWN as various squalls keep passing by. Mostly between 9 up to 20 knots with changes in direction.
I had a first session at 11:00 for about 1 hours then big rain came and for 1 hour wind was totally gone. Went out again around 13:00 and wind was a bit lighter but steady around 12-16 knots. Lots of banana tree debris in the water.
Waves small around Knee to waist high still fun on Minimal..

08 July Wind Report - OK day. 2 Stars.
Since early morning (08:34) wind a bit light at 10 to 14 knots again very South!
Then drop a but around lunch time and came back up stronger at 13:45 at around 13 to 18 knots till 16:15 when it drop back to 10-14..
Waves small around Knee to waist high.

07 July Wind Report - Good day. 2 Stars.
Since early morning (07:00) wind at 12 to 17 knots very South!
Some gust up to 20 knots around lunch time.
Waves small around Knee to waist high.
Fun on Minimal and 11m Drifter.

It's the new style coined by Puetz and self.

Don't do much jumping so can't comment on that.

Just got the Zephyr 2 days ago to fill the light wind gap based on great reports and am stoked with it. It is a complete kite it seems for our conditions. Have been riding it in Sanur on TT and sb.
Has a great wind wind range , feels solid yet dumps power well , turns very quickly for a big kite, felt right from the first time I launched it.

Even had some fun in the waves today . It's the best big kite I have used by far.

Hedn there Sunday in to minds wether to bring a kite got 4 days in kuta a week in lembongan and 3 days in seminyak just got in from a 40 k session fully lit on a 5 mt winter frount cranking .have a surf guide hired for the Bali days so he could get me on location is ther good wave sailing Sanur side or am I better off in changu I kites it two years ago so am aware of the cross off conditions there . Got any long range forecast there jankie I probly won't bother with the sup hire jankie I've been having to Mutch fun on the short board also 10 my my biggest kite

For serious waves changu man. Sunday forecast not promising. Surf time for sure. 10m kite won't cut ****e here.

Bring ya zephyr mate for sure. Been here 10 days have kited 9 of them.

There are kiting waves to be found around and beyond occa point, and some very sweet flat water around there as well.

But SUP and short board for sure!

If chasing serious short board surf waves then Sanur is not the go. But a decent sup waves for sure.

I normally head out to Balian for a wave but not this time. Had a bit of fun at Occa point last year, wish the direction was for more DTL riding tho.

Sick of carting too much gear around with me so it's a TT holiday this time. (hope I remember how to ride it)

Have they finished dismantling the shipwreck , nice wave caming off that as well?

Usally hire a SUP from Jankie and yeah the waves around there can be good fun if you don't grind out on the reef.

Yep would have been there, on the beach at night with a traditional Bali family eating and drinking, but alas my 5 and 6 yr old had other plans!

Then again not sure I'd want an arak headache flying out today and knowing my true self I would have hit it hard...even played a few bad tunes on the gutiar! Lol.

You mean 2013 zephyr right?

A completely different kite man. To be quite honest I spent a bit of time on the old zephyr and didn't rate it, although there was a small window when it was great.

New zephyr has a very different profile. They have blended in just enough edge DNA to give you that efficiency and upwind drive and yet still kept the stability of the old zephyr. Great blend of apparent wind build up and yet static grunt which affords incredible feedback to the rider throughout the window...watching a guy unhook the thing up here in Bali is testimony to that.

I got on the 19m edge up here ( there was 15 different kites from different brands on the beach but the only one I wanted to try was the edge...I'm biased of course). Way more speed, better bottom end but surprisingly although I was going slower I tended to track upwind nearly as well or better...speed from the edge makes the window wrap back. But that being said you wouldn't win any races on the zephyr. ,

Jesus that 19m edge turns quick for its size, so nimble. Could have easily thrown down some backroll back loops, but heck wasn't my kite so as soon as my mind went there I got it of the water real quick! Not my kite!

Upgrade is true, it is a definite upgrade by a long way.

Yeh good point robbie about the power change or lack of difference on the turn and in different parts of the window.

Rebel feel? Yeh aspects I see what ya mean, but a little less spongy. I still find the rebel slightly spongy even with direct connections and no pulleys. That elastic thingy they have must cause it. But yeh a rock stable canopy like the rebel true dat. Any wind today bro? Hope you say no! Lol.
