Im heading to Bali Lombok and Gili T on Friday and would love to take my kite and board,
just wondering;
if its worth it?
where are the best spots to go?
... How safe is it ?

Was just at Gili T last week. Absolutely zero wind.
The 'big winds' come in August but even then I suspect we are talking 12-16 knots max.
Its very unlikely you are going to get any wind in Bali Gili Lombok this time of year. Only a freak weather event of some kind I would suggest.

Was in Bali last week .. zero wind . Great waves !!

Was in Gili Air Oct last year and had a kite. I don't think they do it at Gilli T. .. don't worry about taking gear as there is good hire stuff there and pretty reasonable price (on the off chance there is some wind around).. check out Steffano at Gilli Air Kitesurfing.. Not sure about the safety aspect .. would want to be a reasonable kiter . .. not great for learning .. great snorkeling and perving

I kitted Gilli T a couple of years back. Was around September. The current between the islands generated by the tide is so strong there is pretty much standing waves. If you loose your board you won't get back to it. A friend and I shared a kite so the other could get a boat to rescue the gear if required, which we needed once. There was only one other guy that kited Gilli T while I was there and that was a French guy that worked at the dive shop , and he lost his board not to be found due to the current.
But was awesome kiting still.
