Heading to Sri Lanka for a family holiday / surf trip was wondering if any one has any idea of the kiting potential at this time of year?
is it worth packing the extra gear and lugging it around the wind reports seem to be. a bit all over the shop.

Reports were so different but it seems sub 20 knots

Just left Aragum bay and the wind has been nuking every afternoon bought an 8 & 10 needed a 4 and 6.
Good setups all along the coast some dude from Hawaii was tearing main break apart one afternoon was impressive to watch. As good as the Pro's and then he moved on to his prone foil and was making it from out back through to baby beach then pumping back out.

Then the dads getting turned out of his barstool cause his kid didnt become a kite instructor making $50 usd a hour which is about 12x more then his father has ever made

In countrys where people sell theyre kids you find my experience really that unbelievable?

Now back to arugam bay i did a quick check on weather stats and i i w surprised it actually is fairly windy mid year in arugam... 15 knots not 30 like in north west but least that explains why that surf school on the very south tip where all the pro aerial surfers go used to rent kites. (Im recalling from several years ago mind you for all i know theyre pizzas are actual pizza now and everyones loooong forgotten of the "friendly bridge massacre" where all the locals from villages around arugam slaughtered everyone for serviceing the tourists etc always cracks me up when people tell me its this lovely little island where everyones bhuddist and the dolphins sing to you as you drink chia and avocado smoothies
