After a couple of calm days, plenty wind, warm water and lots of papaya!

Roll on next trip!

What percentage of days did you get in kiting? How about accommodation pricing?

We went with www.kiteboardaitutaki.com

details of the past season are still up on their website and they're going again next year.

There aren't direct flights to raro from Oz, you have to go through NZ...we had 2 guys from Oz join the other 11 of us from NZ, worked fine, ditch airfares are pretty cheap.

This trip was all inclusive (including the boat to the sandbars + lunch) so can't say what breakdown or accomm costs were, but there seem to be plenty of options from backpackers upward.
Two problems are the airfare out to Aitutaki from raro (almost as much as from NZ-Raro!) and you really need a boat to get out to the best spots; sailing from the 'mainland' is limited.
We had one flat calm day, one day when it was a bit dodgy, then 12m for 2 days then 10m for 3 days........steady 24kn at the end at Maina/Honeymoon Island sandbar; that's where you see the guy jumping + the awesome flat water downwind of the spit in between the islands.....

GO!

I was there the same week and the week before, we got 10 out of 14 days - 2 12 metre days and 8 9 metre days, we hired a boat and skipper for $40 a day each and he was available for rescues etc if needed. That spot 'Honeymoon island' on the video was better for us than 1 foot although 1 foot was pretty cool kiting if the wind was easterly enough. All in all it was a trip worth the effort with unbelievable water.

Quick question......Is this written in 3rd person ? Aren't the above website and Brinm the same........?

We...or was it They....Me,....or Them...Oh I can't remember..... anyway ...just got back, had a ball. There are many options to kite at the Motu's, and organise yourself (boat/lunch/rescue......not just kayaks!!!)

Found these guys really helpful,
Jimmy at www.southpacifickiteboarding.com/index.php

He has a great setup and does trips to an amazing place.....unfortuantly I didn't get to kite it, as you can see no wind that day...

And Al & Kel started a LEK/ Best School, contact kakitecookislands@gmail.com

Check out their place

And there is a shop out of NZ that help organise trips....sorry no details on them.

I guess both Seabreeze and your commercial venture would both benefit if you became a site sponsor, that is if you wish to continue to advertise subliminally in you videos/posts.....

All the best.
