Just a heads up to everyone to check their harness.
Last week the stitching on the left hand webbing, that holds the spreader bar, has broken right off.
This happened when I was kiting at Altona in some shallow water and I'm just lucky it didn't happen while I was up in the air.

Anyone else had this happen to their Warrior?

This is a major design and build fault. Thanks guys for sending out the word. When kitesurfing products are faulty they are potentially life threatening issues. Not good for the dealer in terms of sales but if the equipement is not bullet proof than we have a problem. Keep up the good work.

Good call - I for one would be interested here about the after sales service you receive.

I've had mine and used it plenty for just over a year now without any trouble. I'll have a good inspection of it this weekend though.

How long is the warranty on a harness. Would have thought only a few months.

Don't worry about how long you have had it or even if you bought it 2nd hand, take it back to a dealer.

My wifes 2yo bike has 2 broken spokes which caused the wheel to buckle, I took it back to the shop and they said they will replace BOTH wheels at no cost, it was a known batch issue with the spokes. It's not even an expective bike.

Checked mine last night, all good and it's now 2 seasons old.

Just out of interest, how often do you rinse yours in fresh water?

I rinse mine after just about every session...

I rinsed mine every session, though sometimes not thoroughly. I think because of their thickness harnesses can remain wet for many many hours, sometime not completely drying out at all, the chances for rotting are pretty good, though I don't think this was the issue in this particular case.

The fault happened about 10 months after purchase. I went to a sailmaker and had it repaired and the other side reinforced for about 40 bucks. The harness was purchased in Melbourne, used mainly in Cairns and blew out in Airlie beach. Probably lasted 30 sessions before the fault. I am travelling and kiting down the East coast, so being without a harness or returning to manufacturer would keep me off the water too long. The repairs have held well, (even stronger than before) and I find the harness works fine (apart from spontaneously coming apart at the main hook/eye connection - this happens about once every 3 sessions). I hear reversing the hook helps stop this.
Two issues that had I known prior to purchasing would probably have had me in another brand.
Still, it's the most comfortable harness I've used in about 4 years of kiting, and aesthetically one of the best looking on the market - but when it comes apart it's a big surprise.

I have one of these harnesses too. Been using it since november, havent had any problems yet.

It's not as if its easy to check the stitching though... you cant even get in there to see it.

turn around the clip to the out side then hammer it down a bit as it makes it harder to un-clip by itself.I had brand new one come undone a few times could of been tragic had i give to new kiter as in my son.

Actually bought one brand new, put it on and the strap pulled straight out...
There was no stitching.... IMO its a manufacturing fault.

Bratwurst, boerwors, chipolatas, chirozos, knackwurst, weisswurst, frankfurters, mettwurst, salami, nothing like a bit of sausage and some quality smallgoods after a long downwinder.

Mine got a good wash with fresh water and left out to dry after every session.

Have spoken to the distributer (Andy) about 2 weeks ago, and after sending him off the details I’m yet to hear back from him.

An option was to go to a Boot maker and get it sown back on and reinforced. But wanted to see what the distributor could do for me first, as I wasn’t too keen on messing around with the harness and any effects that may have on my safety in the future.

Would rather just get a new 08 Warrior, or another brand if Andy couldn’t confirm that they have fixed this for 08.

my Warrior blew out in a similar(but not the same way) as yours did. I told the importer and they blamed ME for the fault.......do you want me to post the email they sent me?.... I'd probably get banned again... i know!
Anyhow, don't expect any favors from the importers or any after sales service.....they think service begins with a "F" and ends in YOU!

my limited experience...IMO.

Peace.
