See the link for Notice of Race and Poster
www.fsc.com.auIt will be $75 and you will have to have AKSA insurance
At this stage they are open to running Kites however this is a dinghy event, Fremantle Sailing Club have said that they are open to running a kiteclass on the Skiff windward Leward course.
The problems at the moment are...
1. the racing starts early in the morning when the wind will probably be light shifty and offshore.
2. The Dinghys leave the club in the morning and race all day out on the water.
3. the Course is about 3NM offshore
The organising committee will listen to us if we have over 6 people entered as that gives us a fleet.
We could potentially do just the afternoon races once the wind has filled... My legs can not last all day out on a race board can yours? I don't want to be sitting in the water for too long with all the Sharks about.
Launching on south beach is nice and easy (unless some dog attacks your kite)
We will have to be racing with musto Skiffs/49er/29er so will need to be confident not to get tangled in their masts.
What I suggest is to Fill out the nomination form on page 6 of the NOR. But write on the form that you will pay on the first day subject to suitable course and conditions. It would be good to get a number of people out to show the clubs that there is a good interest in kite racing. Then they will listen to us.
The Yacht Clubs want Kites but we should do this on our terms. It works is San Francisco there is no reaso it can't work here.
