Great. Best to come and try some boards and look at what everyone is using. I will PM you with my mobile. Will be out a lot over next few weeks, with a few other regulars. Going down about 3.30pm today. Kites - more coming on the market, but hard to go past the Ozone Edge. New one just released and it looks even better again (unfortuantely for my wallet!).

If you already kite then getting on a race board is the way to go straight up.

BUT If you dont kite then perhaps getting on a kite and some sort of directional board to get past the learning stage on both the kite and board would be a good option.
You could just buy a very cheap or throw away surfbaord to spend a couple of months on while you get your kite and baord skills happening then start to look around for a race board.

Also I personally would not recommend a brand new race kite as your first kite
They are harder to relaunch and not quite as user friendly.
Learning on regualar freestyle type kite may actually speed up the learning and get you going quicker.
As a learner you will not be seeing the benifet of a dedicated race kite for at least 6 months
