Thumbs Up

I have been kitefoiling for quite some time. I do other foiling sports too (wing, dw, etc). But I do love kitefoiling for the relaxed day with very little wind. No jumping, just carving, freeriding, some small speedruns, and some small wave riding when conditions are good.

I have been kitefoiling on my old and trusty yellow Shinn kitefoil setup. But looking to consolidate gear and get some smaller front wing for my existing Axis setup to kitesurf on.

What I am confused with is if to go for high aspect or moderate aspect front wing. So HPS, Spitfire, or perhaps something like Surge.

From what I found out, a small HPS wing would be the most similar to what I am riding on now. But I do wonder if not to go for something that is of higher aspect ratio. Will the difference be very much noticable? I do like the idea of being able to pump the foil in certain situations.

Anyone kitefoils on HA front wing?

hi Greg,

they all work... I have moved from BSC, to HPS, then Art V1 and am now on the Spitfire. When the buzz of the Surge abates, I'll move again. I also prefer a large HA front foil and small kite combination.

I think the kite matters more that the foil and use a 9m single strut then a 4m Gin hybrid when the white caps arrive. The parawing or DW SUP with paddle is what I'll use when there are proper bumps to ride (am currently at kook level).

Have also found that 80cm mast is a little short for my kiting and that carbon is stiffer than red aluminum. I also run a longer fuselage.

hope that helps and encourages discussion
