I have picked up a set of xlw wings with AVS and I am stoked on them. I think the AVS is working but I am a bit lacking in a valid comparison as the only other foil I have ridden is a spots 2 carbon race foil.

When it comes to breaches the spitfire is a million times more forgiving than the old spots. As stated previously this is probably mostly due to the canard design but I think the AVS is playing a part.

I have had plenty of times when part of the foil will breach the surface and it just drops back in and recovers just fine, also when a wing tip pops out it makes a sharp hiss like the water is shearing off the wing, the noise is quite different to the usual gurgle from a near breach. I still breach and fall of a bit but the foil gives a good warning as the wings start to surface and the ability to correct and recover is great.

I have had a few more sessions with the new wings now and i am noticing that I will often have part of the wing pierce the surface of the water and the foil will ride on without losing any lift, I would barely notice it if I wasn't purposely aware of it.

I am quite inexperienced as a foiler. Usually if part of the wing pierces the surface of the water will the wing ventilate and drop/ crash?
If so then the AVS is having an effect in stopping this

You are sounding like you're having fun.
im jealous. Sitting at Sandfire just south of Broome and gear is still wrapped from flight.
The mere thought of crocs and wife bans me from water.
