Big Brother.....My Kitchen Rules...The Block...master chef....house rules...x factor...biggest looser....so you think you can dance....
did I miss any?
I think my tv is going to be switched off after the 6:30 news ( accept footy night )
agreed - all crap
had high hopes for digital when I saw all the good comedies, but nup - for any given program they show 2 or 3 series again and again even though 10 or 15 seasons were made
Its a strange phase that seemed to last a lot longer than I thought.
I do however watch one or two of those programs, but what infuriates me is that the editors of said programs insult the viewers intelligence in an extreme way by replaying the SAME FOOTAGE OVER AND OVER again. Its bad enough to have to accept the subtle product placements and in show advertising, but to use the EXACT same 20 sec clips and repeat them multiple times through the one episode is a joke.

Idiots don't read
Threw TV out the window in 2009, now watch all my shows by streaming online.
It's amazing how little I watch when I have to actively choose what to watch.
Back in the day I was prone to vegging out and watching an arvo of whatever. Now I only watch the good stuff, when I feel like it. Probably an hour every 2 days on average.
Just finished the first season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine - def worth a watch!

Exactly. Plus ch 7/9/10 now lobbying for extra 6 mins of ads per hour = extra 6 mins of bs recaps for zombies too = 12 mins less actual content p/h
What this 'TV' you talk of ?
Some amazing invention of communicating ideas in the form of images and sound I guess.
Hmmm, what would I show.
Informative documentaries about the world, including stories of people , places and cultures.
News, with in depth reporting covering issues that need attention so to rally the masses into action.
Reporting political issues that effect us and how the government of the day is dealing with it.
Wow with ideas like these my TV channel will be very successful compared to those ones that show.
Sports, home Reno shows, fat people losing weight, funny comedy sketches that never get old, cooking
programs that have the twist of winning or losing depending on how good the chefs are!
Who am I kidding people want to veg out in front of the box and not think to hard.
Foxtel for me.
Me and the misses watch pretty much a different documentary everynight.
Oh and one of the channels is currently replaying the whole Entourage series from season one till the end every weeknight.
So good for sport too, fuel for the surfing, footy channels mean we get every game every weekend.
Espn and Espn 2 for my Seppo sports fix (I love the NFL and Ice Hockey).
I get my inner child fix with fox8 always having The Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama.
Comedy channel - If you ever get a chance to watch Tosh.O do yourself a favour.
And Redicioulsiness with rob Drydrek on MTV is quite a funny show as well.
Got some of David Attenborough's latest in HD, great stuff to throw on when the viewing slumps to the reality levels. ![]()

I could see this happening when they pushed for 'multi-channelling' with the push to digital TV. More costs, the same number of viewers, but less per channel, so your ad revenue can actually go down.
Now, if they are pushing for more ads, they will be pushing more people to PVRs, and even less people will watch ads, and will fast forward through them. I only watch ads if I really have to watch something realtime, or if I am too lazy to use the remote control.
Next they will be asking to be allowed to have scrolling ads along the bottom of your screen.

Wow. I can't actually believe that people waste money on foxtel. You'd enjoy running a few $50 notes through a blender just as much I reckon.
PVR... watch what I wanna watch, when I wanna watch it, no ads. Even watch some stuff in 30% faster mode.
been taping the news at night to skip ads and the boring bits
Having watched a bit of TV here in the US and Canada in the last few weeks i can tell you we have it pretty good...
It seems that if you lead a "different" lifestyle over here you can have your own show.
Gypsy sisters, 19 kids, show about a dwarf family, rich kids in beverly hills, countless tattoo, gold and food shows, mob wives, the amish, rappers, teen mums, crazy parents, wrestling divas etc.
Its seriously fkd lol
