"Stand and Deliver" got beaten by "Stand Your Ground". Is that what is called "Poetic Justice"?

God I hope Perth never actually needs this law, "ever".

"**The law, passed in 2005, gives people the right to use deadly force as long as they reasonably believe" it is necessary to stop another person from hurting them.**"

i think itd be like a cycle of:
mugger might hurt me, i will shoot.
if i hit my target, he might shoot me so i will shoot 1st.

no win.

hard call if they invade your own home though.

I know I am "old school" however I know that if I mug, rob or attack someone or their property I have crossed the line and cop whatever punishment is dished out by my victim or the authorities. Having said that, 8 bullets is probably a bit extreme, especially the ones in the back, i am sure the first one would have slowed the attacker down a lot, sounds like adrenelin kicked in.

Only 8, must not have fully loaded. Id say most people in a panic would use more than 4. personally I would have emptied all of them into him. Depending on the gun of course..

I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself.

and at risk of reigniting the gun debate (but lets not, huh?)

i think the debate is ignited,

Good day for it too, after 2 kids get shot at school in the U.S, oh but it was only an accident.

That law is one of the stupid things i have heard. allowing people to shoot other at thier own discretion.... I wouldn't want to stop a that trigger happy jogger and ask him for the time. "but your honour i thought he was mugging me"
