am i the only person in this country without a smart phone?
No I will never have one. I completely fail to see the point, I have never had a need for the internet in my pocket all day and doubt I ever will.
I find it interesting that we spent years developing standards so everyone can look at everything on the internet on Mac or PC with a handful of different OS and browsers. Everything works on you computer.
Look at Laurie's latest upgrade and all the different posts about some things not working on different phones. Must be a nightmare to try and make a workable site nowadays. Seems a bit dumb to step back to 1987 where nothing was compatible, just so people can spend all day looking at 'stuff'
Back in my day we had no entertainment, we made do with marbles an suchlike.
So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a 10 cents and in those days, 10 cent coins had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. Give me five bees for a fifty, you'd say.
Now where were we? Oh yeah: the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones.
You see, back in those days, rich men would ride around in Zeppelins, dropping coins on people, and one day I seen some guy flying by. So I run of the house with a big washtub and... hey! Where are you going? Anyway, about my washtub. I'd just used it that morning to wash my turkey, which in those days was known as a walking-bird.
