How about his lazy ass photography teacher judges the photos on technique and artistic merit instead of making it a popularity contest.
It's a nice photo - but I don't know you, your son, the school and I can't be assed checking out the other photos taken by a bunch of kids I don't know.

(off on a tangent a bit) Recently a friend of mine applied for a job with an IT company - part of the job "application" was to get as many people as possible on facebook to "like" their application page. Of course if you like the page you then get spammed with all sorts of useless ****, if you don't like their page your friend gets pissed off. That really irritated me.
