I'm trying to get the e record to be on my laptop & as that's windows 7 . I seem to need a file extension to get it to work. I'm just about at the stage of hitting it with a hammer . But I think it would be more productive to appeal to the brain trust . Help would be greatly appreciated thank you . I use it for work and I use it to do my invoices and would love to get paid this week.

Works on my computer... I think you may need to downgrade.

Ok maybe I didn't explain it right ..
The program ran on windows vista but I can't get it to run on windows 7 .
original It was running on . On whatever was before vista. When I got vista . Computer shop $15.00 & 10 min later fixed. To work on vista Now $200 to fix in 4 days . To get running on windows 7 . Kids destroyed screen on my old laptop but I have uploaded everything to new reconditioned laptop. So far all the other programs seem to work but this was the business program I've been using for years . The government stopped doing up grades. Why I don't know.

Is there something I'm missing?
I run a micro business myself. I use a spreadsheet. I could probably just count on my fingers instead.

+ Days * Rate + 10%.
- Expenses
- Salary
Etc.

I prefer spreadsheets because you can do whatever you want with the data - hypotheticals, planning and such.

If I could just chime in... e-record seems to be the software where you interact with the ATO. Hopefully they have a version that works with newer versions of windows.

You got that right.

I have no experience with e-record... I just asked Google.

Windows 7: The first time you run it, it will say it doesn't know how to open worksheetindex2.ifm. At this point, you get windows to open the file using either: C:\Program Files (x86)\FileNet\eForms\Filler.exe or C:\Program Files\FileNet\eForms\Filler.exe. You can also tick the box that says "use this application from now on".

...You may want to reinstall if that didn't help: www.kilbot.com.au/cgi-sys/suspendedpage.cgi

I just did it... took 2 mins, seems to work fine.

Yes it is a program that interacts with the tax department . It has been great it was free the tax department even came to my house installed it showed me how to use it & even found about $6000 I should have been claiming that my account missed. . I do my invoices bas tax etc & can email straight to tax department . Basically it was the tax departments MYOB program Why they stopped supporing it I'll never know. Thanks for the advice I'll try it when I get home .

Hello, this is "actiomax's" son. I've tried all of the above and more. The current OS is Windows 7 but I'm pretty sure it's fake because it always comes up with "this windows is not genuine", so obviously meaning it's fake. So downloading a windows version of E-Record seems pointless. Should he just buy a new laptop? Or is there a way to bypass this?

Is the laptop licensed for windows 7? Has it got a license/authority sticker on it somewhere for Win7?

You can buy licenses for Win7, which should be cheaper than a new laptop.

You could also buy another laptop with windows 7 if you want.

I don't think that having a non genuine install will affect anything else other than windows itself. Windows should remind you a lot, and turn the desktop black every 60 minutes, but apart from that, it should work. It would be a shame if you bought a new laptop to only find the problem was with the software.
