I would have thought that my country would have scored higher, but I guess not, however you guys know how to party. It's no wonder when any of my friends who go down under for a vacation, they always come back looking worn out.

The darker the color the more alcohol is consumed~

Can only imagine what we would be like if Spirits were the same price here as they are in the US of A

Well I can't say anything about that, with the exchange rates and all, but I will say that we have a very good assortment of very fine tequilas now days as it becomes maybe the most popular spirit now. Whiskey, scotch, vodka, and gin are what our parents drank, now days it's mostly tequila, beer, and wine, unless you're in Hawaii or Florida, then you have to throw in some rum also, but only in those two areas typically.

And that is why I'm not going to the USA, I would surely end up living the life of Hunter S Thompson although without the writing skills.

pretty sure they are still numero uno in beer consumption per head (as oppose to overall alcohol consumption) even though I now drink for team Australia

...but according to the dailymail we drink "764 bottles of Fosters" here

Edit: yep, still number one: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_beer_consumption_per_capita

Ahh yes, beer, of course. The home of Pilsener Urquell. First time I cracked triple figures on the scales was a beer drinking fortnight in Prague.

I have Grandad's olde schoole homebrew recipes stashed away,

They are all for 18 gallon batches - so I guess he liked a drink or two.

That, and he was swapping his beer for that funny grappa stuff that the old Itie bloke next door made, or the Greek firewater from t'other side of the fence.

Most of my memories of their antics involve foul smelling stuff boiling or distilling in sheds - and crates of bottles being hauled over the fences, with me being bribed with chocolates to keep lookout for Grandma and the Nonna's [who bribed me with cakes and icecream]
