I'm in exactly the same boat as you Mark.
I got a CX2 and am getting a bit bored of flying it. I got a big back garden and fly it out my balcony and whiz it around. It's really sensitive to the slightest gust though.
The thing that attracts me to the Blade 400 is that, like you said, you can fly it straight out the box. It's small enough to fly indoors, for me anyhow, and apparantly its pretty good in breezy conditions. Have you seen this guy flying one?
And $449 really is a bargain.
I'm going to look at it this way, which ever heli I get i'm going to completely trash it going through the learning curve of 3d, so having it be repairable is not such a big advantage if it gets totally mashed. And I think learning to fly it indoors is a big plus. Also I don't have to fart around setting the thing up but concentrate on the important bit. Flying it.
Then I'm gonna get me a ducks nuts Hurricane when i know better what I want out of it.
By the way do you fly mode 1 or 2? My CX2 is mode 1 so i may stick to it with the 400.
I have another 2 months of saving b4 I can buya 400 so they may even come down a bit in price
