Heard some thunder yesterday morning...looked out the window and the sky was clear...thought must of been a big truck going by..which would have been impossible as I'm a long way from any major roads.
so walked outside and the sky was clear with clouds on the horizon, then saw lighting and heard thunder coming from a small isolated cloud..then it cleared, and then more very small clouds that were there own little thunder and lighting systems came through..never seen this before.
Is this normal?
or is this a new weather phenomena....
Was weird to be standing outside hearing thunder and seeing lighting flashes but when you look at the sky it was clear.
Ive seen this on really hot early mornings. Once saw it ahead of me as I was driving to where I was clearing a grid line in mulga. we stopped and watched it pass over where we would be working for 3/4 hr then drove in to the end of the line after it had dispersed.
there was a tree on a hill which we had planned as the first to cut down that day, and it was a blasted steaming mess
if you have a carbon windsurfer mast handy stand it up and watch the top with the sun behind your back. also listen to the electrical hum, the blue glowing tip of the mast will confirm electrical activity
