It's always fun to see what direction topics end up taking on here!

Anyway, we have a half crappy 10 year old toaster, from Breville, and still going strong.

However, with the advent of smart phones, I've recently noticed that my toaster is way behind the times... in these ways;
- normal 2 slice toaster, doesn't receive toast that is bigger than a normal "block" loaf, so it doesn't properly receive the larger cob loafs (or is it loaves, who cares?), etc.
- with large breads, I have to keep popping the farkers up, and rotating them, and some edges are under-done, and the middle is over done...

This is my biggest concern in life! Just kidding. I know there are bigger issues out there!

But what "kick-arse" toasters can people suggest?
There are some $200 Breville Toasters, that seem a little over the top... But they might be a smart toaster... Suggesting there is an "anti-burn" feature. Plus a button for "just a little bit longer".

Is $200 the right decision to solve today's dilema!

Correct!

I bought this toaster...and would not recommend it to anyone....
it is just like other toasters...it does not cook evenly on both sides...
I absolutely hate it...and if I had not bought it with the money my brother gave me
as a special birthday present ..I would have binned it long ago...
I bought it on special and I have seen it on special for about $159 in places...
I would not pay 10 dollars for it...I would not have it even if someone would give it to me...I hate hate hate it......well that's my 2 cents worth...and by the way...it frign' beeps at you...I am so sick of any new appliance (dishwashers toaster microwaves that have to blinking beep 8 times at you to tell you it has finished..)

Bought a $2 toaster from the Good Guys in 2003. It's still going strong. I'll keep it till it dies.

If you can't get the same model that Boofy got, see if you can get one of these.

Simondo I hear yr pain.....we had similar issues about 12 months ago and splashed out on an expensive one that never lived up to expectations....we then took it back and had a whinge - the bloke told us that we had been sold a lemon and gave us this one instead and a refund for the difference. We are more than happy with our new one although if it was a little higher (maybe an extra couple of inches) it would be perfect. I love the lift and look function

Ted, I hear you...
You want it a little bit higher...
The "extra long slot" covers the width issue, but there are some nice "jumbo loaves" on the market, and most (all!?) toasters don't have you covered on both height and width!!

How hard can it be !!!

All I want is a "Jumbo Toaster". 2 long slots, operate independently, with generous "height", and and generous slice thickness coverage, up to 30mm.
