I love basic cooking.
The classic breakfast for me is vegemite on toast at Yallingup foreshore.
Here is one of my recipes that is a little more sophisticated.
One glass
One handful of salted peanuts (two if you are really hungry)
A dash of Worcestershire sauce. (soya will do in a pinch)
A slather of tomato sauce.
Mix.
Eat.
I call it "sharks in blood"

Toast, covered in thick american mustard, then doused in Palmerston cheese (cheap shake bottle style).
Also Vegemite from jar and sauce from bottle.

They both sound truly awful.

I'll contribute an awful bachelor recipe that I love.

1 can watties spaghetti
1cm slice hot salami, cut in small cubes
frozen corn from freezer, same amount as salami

Microwave, do a piece of toast while microwaving

Add lots of cheese last so it doesn't melt too much & cracked pepper.

I absolutely love lots of vegemite and slabs of butter on toast. Some times I even eat the toast. Or grab a large crockery mug 6 tablespoons milo, 6 tablespoons powdered milk, 6 tablespoons sugar, stir until well blended, add enough water to make a crumbly mixture then eat by the spoonful

steak, vegies chips, coleslaw, whatever all cooked on flat barby plate. turn plate off. eat with knife and fork straight from barbie. Washing up consists of knife and fork. either wash up traditionally or wipe with tshirt and then throw in laundry.

For kids :

# lg slab choc - chopped mixed lollies. melt choc, mixture together. Instant rocky road
# condensed milk = thickened cream, blend well. Straight ion freezer. Instant Icecream. Add other sweets as required
# 100g mince a few spices, bbq sauce, egg, breadcrumbs- just to thicken up. Blend/mix well. Mini meatballs (baby loves them and soft)

For Adults

# Any alcohol, open lid. Drink if still hungry have a smoke
# Egg ham toasties. Make as per normal just add an egg, it does work, don't forget to butter the bread
# Easy rice. 1cup rice 1diced onion, 1/4 cup veg oil, 1 1/2cups water. Bring to boil add lid and simmer till ready.
# Garlic bread - bread with a medium layer minced garlic(jar) oven 10 mins.
# Dipping sauce - Five brothers pasta sauce - 1 tub creamed cheese - big cob loaf of bread, hollow out mix and fill. Oven till ready -
My fav this one, every one always begs for more. Also goes well with mud crabs.
# CC's - cheese, microwave yum. Spring onion mixed thru with steak seasoning for that extra flavor.

Vegemite and beer mixed in icecream. stir it around and then spread in on toast and top with cheese and anchovies.

I find this is the best hangover cure.

Leftover anything...folded into in a 'lazy b@stard's' omelette (3 eggs, break into frying pan & stir - add salt/pepper).

This is my lunch about twice a week - takes about 3mins to do from raw ingredients - to plate.

Way too many ingredients there Cassa.

I can vouch for Mark_australia's twisties on the BBQ, but bring your own beer, he never has any in his fridge.

I'm a fan of two minute noodles, just add half a can of spam halfway through the cooking and then tomato sauce after draining, or two minute noodles with a couple of eggs poached in the broth, again with tomato sauce after draining.

One sure to please.

Cook 500g spaghetti
dice 300g ham
shred 300g chees
layer in an oven proof plate (as many layers as possible the more the better)
pour 300 ml fresh cream on top (not thickned cream)
in a 200 c hot oven for 1/2 hour
serve with pepper and parmesan cheese!
Finger licking good!

I make a big load of it as it is even better reheated in the frypan next day!

This all sounds pretty good, but I am out of practice with rattling pots and pans!

The sandwichmaker banned me from the kitchen 13 years ago, and in the 10 years prior to getting married / banned from the kitchen, the girls at work fed me most of the time

It's apparent that the offspring can live quite happily on 2 minute noodles and maccas and meataterian pizza

So..........since I found a couple of surviving freds lurking with intent in my shed,

..........anyone know where I can find 2 months worth of rat. packs and MRE's without breaking the bank?

2 x minute noodles are so versatile : recipe no 1. one cup or packet of noodles (chicken flavour)
one egg
one small can of creamed corn

Method ;pour boiling water into or onto the noodles
break egg into boiled noodles & stir briskly
finally add creamed sweetcorn to the mix &
consume.....

recipe no 2. one cup or packet of noodles any flavour
one can of John west tuna in Basil & oven dried tomatoes
jalapenos peppers (Old El Paso)

Method :remove the salt sachet from the packet & discard thoughtfully
pour boiling water into or over the noodles & vege mix
chop peppers finely & add to noodles
add the Tuna & stir through thoroughly

add an Orange for dessert & you have all your diets requirements...& think of the money you will save for that other requirement.....Beer.

1. Crack an egg or two into a microwave-safe cup/mug/glass (make sure the egg/s doesn't take up over half of the room).

2. Chop up some ham/chorizo/what-have-you and chuck it in the cup.

3. Chop up some small cubes/bits of your favourite cheese and chuck that in too.

4. Chuck in seasoning and what ever else takes your fancy.

5. Stir then microwave for 30-60 seconds, depending on how many eggs and strength of microwave.

Voila- fluffy omelet in a cup : EAT.

next level-

Take fluffy omelet out of cup, crush/spread it our over a piece of toast, sauce and season to taste : EAT.

For bachelors rice vs. potatoes;
When you chop up a load of potatoes, add stuff to it and cook, it shrinks considerably WTF?! I figured there would be enough for several days but it's only one meal.
Rice on the other hand actually gets bigger after it's cooked! and with a rice cooker you never burn it. Rice is the ultimate bachelor food.
But I like those little red potatoes best so I just sprinkle some olive oil and seasoning salt and cook em' in the micro and eat em whole.
Here's a tip for microwave cooking, get a plastic dome thingy that fits over the plate and you get zero splattering inside the micro oven and the thingy keeps the moisture in while cooking which seems to help.

Easy 5-star breakfast:

3-4 green prawns
2 rashers bacon
2eggs
some finely sliced green onion and red chilli
oyster sauce

Fry bacon till crispy, remove
Fry prawns in bacon fat, remove
Fry eggs in bacon fat (increase heat so the edges get crispy while the yolks are still a bit runny)
Plate prawns, top with bacon and eggs
Sprinkle with sliced green onion and red chilli
Dress with oyster sauce.

Sliced avocado and Bloody Mary on the side.
