Finally eaxtracted the digit and got down to Vid emporium yesterdee and as well as kid's placations took out:

The Road
Animal kingdom

Scott Pilgrim vs The world.

Kn hell SP vs World was the funniest flick I have seen in AGES! Expected average and was treated.

Sure pop culture and indi music ref's everywhere - right up my alley like FACT 50 t-shirt (getting one online today - have had disc since 88). Ha ha - even picked Frank Black's Los Angeles toon behind 'Ramona song' (calling Poor Rellie).

Right out there film and heaps of funny sight gags and one liners tho. Gamers would love it even more I reckon.



So what's your pick for the hols viewing

We watched Tron Legacy the other day at the cinemas.

Cost us about $45 for two tickets.

The 3D effect was quite good and it was in parts exciting. However the plot was lacking and got in the way. They could have taken about half an hour out of the middle when they were in the old bloke's house talking about stuff that did not seem to matter that much.

I don't mind movies with a story and dialogue. However when an action SFX movie tries to explain anything and everything, it doesn't work. All you need to know is there are good guys and there are bad guys.

A bit of a waste of money and time. Been a long time since we've watch a movie at the cinemas and it will probably be a long time before we see another one.

Larson's bi-friendly tattoo chick sounds worth a gander. Two ticks right there for a start.

Too tired tonight for Animal kingdom. Hope it's as good as The Boys was years ago.

Caught great Anton Corbjin doco (after nodding off on couch) tonight. Tops.

Just watched Inception, which I liked, but wasn't in the right frame of mind for. I'll need to sit down and watch again and concentrate a bit more.

Saw Inception last week... I liked it but you're right, you do need to concentrate. It's easy to lose the plot when there are four different levels happening simultaneously but at different speeds.

Hey GPA - wifey and I scored an EVENT Gold Pass for recent birfdees. What doe that include?

I'm assuming it would be unwise to see a 'serious' film requiring concentration,as some nong (like me) will probably be requesting complimentary peanuts/G&T's/anything free every 5 secs.


Oh - saw Gullivers travells with squids the other day. Not a big Jack Black (Gulliver pun intended) fan but was pretty good. A real boys film. Arse crack jokes etc. Tightarse Tuesday fare for adults without kids.

i think larson's 2nd installment is just hitting the cinemas or has hit recently. am kee nto catch it once on dvd.

another i saw couple of weeks back was "500 days of summer". i'm not a romcom fan but this one was worth the watch. reminded me of my younger years.
has a darkish overtone and a great soundtrack.

Just didnt get why Animal Kingdom got all the accolades, as far as I , and wife were concerned it was total crap!, but hey we all have different tastes.
If I wanted to watch dickhead Australian bogans at work (or life) might just head down to the pub ,or on the streets driving around with --- show ya t.ts for the boys stickers on their commadores. Great representation of australians NOT.

i watched inception last night.

not my cup of tea, the plot didn't require much thought at all, i got bored and it was predictable. being spoon fed details to try and clarify a plot is too american for me.

hey funky what was the road like? read the book but have yet to see the movie.

I just watched "tomorrow when the war began" - the acting is so bad that makes it watchable. I laughed more than i do during most comedies...
