Been a slack arse and haven't had a check up for 18 months. Used to do it every 6 months. had a not so fun time this arvo getting a biopsy down on my nose and a nasty BCC cut out of my back. Took 9 stitches inside and 8 outside to close up and even with local was still painful. Have to go back in a week for results and stitches out of nose. Local hurts.
If your of my vintage (53) and part of that age that spent every day in the sun then go and get checked.
Your family and friends will appreciate it!!!

God after that story I think I might keep putting it off!
47 and still a skin Check virgin, I know I should go in with this weeping sore iv had for years!
But hey I might die today of something else....

Here's a quick yarn about my friends visit to the local Doc;

Getting a checkup he asks to have his skin checked by the surgeon even though he has had lots of work
Done by a skin specialist he wanted a second opinion.

Well not good, he's got one on the chest and on the back.
And no burning let's do a opp.says the Doc, well my friend decides he better go back to the skin specialist
To get the work done...

No can't see anything!.....
Nothing on the back or chest, your all clear he's told.

Just another import doctor drumming up work on Medicare.

Dunno. My old man had the clinics tell him he was OK, but mum pushed him to get other opinion. Biopsies proved the clinic had missed a few.

Im 42 and i had a couple suspicious looking spots on back, a coupe of years back. One was removed and was proven cancerous but only minor. Anyway last month at Doc's i asked for a referral to get another check up from Specialist. He said no need. I wasn't there specifically for that referral, but have decided i will go back and make him give me a referral. The problem is that if you do find something not right, its 6 months to get a specialist appointment..
