not bad... danger even without shark 57M ? .... but in case in emergency ascent not sure what is better _ shark teeth or ..bubbles.. and water 28 C on 57 M ???? I don't know this computer yet..if the reading is correct ??
pretty full on doing 54m on scuba only, if problems happen there is no room for errors... If that shark would have latched on he would have definatley shot to the surface too fast and got the bends guaranteed.. Then take into account there isn't a viable option for a deco chamber in a remote location, the bends, (also pulmonary barotrauma) and a secondary shark bite injury and he pretty well should be thinking himself VERY luck he survived. I doubt he would have. I call BS on the 54M!
Also that seriously isn't a reefy! More like a big bronzy or a small bull shark. They react to the plastic bottle because it sounds like a crayfish in distress.. Same as when they get yanked from the rocks ect...
I've worked on pearl farms and also as a sea cucumber diver.. over 2500 dives and only twice down to 55m to fix a mooring.. You only get a few minutes roughly at that depth on the bottom and spend more time safety stopping and deco).. Seeing this actually sent shivers up my spine knowing the depth they were at and how bad it could gone.. I'd be thinking that it was 54 feet!!!
I'd bet its 54ft, (around 18m or so) not 54m. You can see in the very beginning a red object hanging off the dude who got bit. Red filters out quickly with depth, even very clear water at 54m it would appear darker than that. I've also dived 55m on air in the coral sea, bottom time 2min or so on computer, narced pretty badly, dont think I could have operated a video camera or reacted that fast to an attacking shark...

Nitrogen Narcosis would definitely be kicking in at that depth (assuming there on normal air). Plus a huge surge of adrenalin Farken heck...!!
you can tell it's deep from the bottom. I think it's real. I would be hanging a spare bottle if I was them at 35 feeet because those single tanks would be getting fairly empty. you only need to look at the utube comments to see real (an the bottom vs clarity of water.)

My point was that if they were 55m deep on air they would definitely be feeling strongly the effects of nitrogen narcosis.
Hey does anyone know what happens to a sealed plastic container when you take it down to 6.5 atmospheres???
boyle's law would dictate that it would be compressed pretty much!
And yes they would be tripping out with nitrogen narcosis.. You go delerious and into a sureal zone. One of our divers in PNG took out his reg at 50m and we found him 3 days later.
Inquiry found he narc'd out.. Had enough air to come up in his tank but chose not to.. No second chances after 40 m.. After 40 things start to get serious. No room for error.
On the video they claim its 54m. Diving on AL80 (dunno what that is). crazy stuff indeed!
One thing that makes me think otherwise, the palstic bottle would be totally crumpled at 54m..(I guess you could fill it with air when your down there but that seems like a great waste considering how precious it is down that deep..)
