Oxymoron? No I don't think so.

He is talking about FREEDOM. What is FREEDOM?? It is an IDEA, a concept a thought and therefore exactly as he says, FREEDOM starts or comes from the mind.

Concise Oxford Dictionary:-
freedom, noun, Personal liberty, non-slavery; civil liberty, independence; liberty of action, right to do; power of self determination, independence of fate or necessity; boldness of conception;..........................

the four freedoms, freedom of speech and religion, freedom from fear and want.

Are these what our so called "Democratic Institutions" promote above all else?? Not in my opinion. Saying Merry Christmas today is a no-no because it may offend someone's religion.

FREEDOM would then seem to be a state of being where the will of another is not imposed or forced upon one's self.

FIGHTING or WAR is when two or more parties attempt to impose or enforce their will upon each other.

So if you are looking for an oxymoron, how about "FIGHTING for FREEDOM"
