You am I in there awready?
No - but surely Timmy and the lads will get a geurnsey some day - its 18(?) years since I saw my first YAI show and I still get excited by a new rekud or tour and now I have 2 little YAI fans who treasure every handclap, drum roll and riff
Early on in the aria HOF I thought it was the usual self congratulatory wanking from an industry so fixated on "hits" and not quality (aside from occasionly tossing in non pop people - Percy Grainger, Greame Bell). Age has changed my opinion slightly and I recognise the inductees as doing something different / new / exciting....
I think the concept really worked for me when they induct artists who really smashed ground
LobBy Lloyde - WOW
Radio Birdman - Still feel the emotion of the howl at the start of TV eye like it was yesterday
Rose Tattoo - brutal
Nick Cave - Junkyard still frightens me 25 years later
Future Inductees
You am I
Powderfinger (not a fan but you cant ignore them)
The Go Betweens - shoulda been done years ago
Mick Harvey - for propping up Nick Cave as well as his contribution to music
David Bridie - and Not Drowning Waving - they beat Sheedy to cross cultural collabarations in the top end / PNG
