wd40 is a degreaser not a lubricant.
i just buy the cheap tubs of grease from super cheap when serviceing the car. if you dont have a gun with a nozzle get the more expensive one with the gun.... ?
for car door locks definitely use the graphite powder instead. works wonders. some key joints will let you just borrow theres if your lucky just spray it in the keyhole and wiggle key in and out alot.
i like to spray it with contact cleaner the day before tho (stuff used to clean pcb in electronics and computers etc) dont do one after another

Theres is heaps of lube on the market. It depends the application.
I like to use Inox when im rubbing and protecting against salt water.
I only use crc oil on light fast moving parts that require a weekly service.
I use a penetration creep oil in High rust environments.
I use a special mix when tapping holes.
This lube is different to when Im drilling holes.
Just need to know what materials the heat and the speed of the parts .and I can help ! .
Inox mx3

It's a good Australian company too
I'm not sure "support Australian" is valid when the head of the company is both a pedophile and a murderer.
I found this stuff years ago, and was told it was the best by far.

Superior Friction Reducer = SFR.
Lanotec would be too thick in this case...though it is very good for other applications....especially if you like the smell of sheep.
